Notre projet « Découvrir et faire découvrir son pays ou sa région par l'art local et ses artistes» a pour thème l'art et les langues. Ce sera l'occasion pour nos élèves d'aller à la rencontre d'œuvres et d'artistes, de produire eux-mêmes des œuvres, de développer leur créativité et leur sensibilité, de partager leurs savoirs avec des européens.
Le projet vise un public particulier : des élèves relevant de l’éducation prioritaire, à scolarité difficile. Ils sont de plus issus de familles défavorisées socialement.
Nous avons observé que nos élèves ont besoin de :
- vivre la langue anglaise comme un moyen de communication et non comme une matière de l'école,
- renforcer la langue nationale qui n’est parfois pas leur langue maternelle,
- développer leur curiosité pour mieux s'ouvrir à l'autre afin de vaincre le racisme,
- d'acquérir un esprit citoyen et une fierté d’appartenance à l'Europe tout en développant un sentiment de fierté régionale et nationale.
Nous souhaitons pour cela travailler sur l'art car c'est un langage universel, intemporel qui permet d'échanger au-delà des barrières linguistiques.
A travers le langage artistique, les élèves pourront aborder les problématiques actuelles, régionales, nationales et internationales, afin de développer leur citoyenneté. La diversité artistique sera une porte ouverte sur les cultures européennes dans toutes leurs richesses.
En donnant la possibilité aux élèves de chaque pays de promouvoir leur culture, nous voulons leur permettre de donner du sens à leur apprentissage et à leur présence à l'école tout en créant une ouverture à l'internationale.
Le thème de l’ART sera étudié sur deux années à travers des disciplines artistiques diverses et variées :
- première année : quatre périodes de 6 semaines sur la photographie, puis sur la littérature, puis sur l’architecture, puis sur la peinture.
- deuxième année : quatre périodes de 6 semaines sur le street-art, puis sur le land-art, puis sur la musique, puis sur le théâtre.
La logique du projet en termes d’objectifs poursuivis se trouve dans la nécessité de :
- développer le sentiment d’appartenance nationale et donc à l'Europe (qui fait défaut à bon nombre d'élèves réunionnais à cause de l'éloignement géographique et à la Turquie du fait de l'éloignement politique). Il s’agit en effet de lutter contre le repli identitaire qui menace les populations et encore plus les régions périphériques de l'Europe comme La Réunion et la Turquie,
- faire découvrir aux partenaires européens que l’Europe ne se limite pas au « continent » mais qu’il existe des RUP (Région Ultra Périphérique) comme La Réunion. Nos partenaires découvriront une des nombreuses petites parcelles de l’Europe disséminées partout dans le monde,
- développer chez nos élèves une curiosité pour l'extérieur, pour l'autre par le biais de l'art en Europe pour développer la tolérance et combattre le racisme,
- lutter contre le décrochage scolaire en développant de nouvelles façons d’aborder les disciplines (transdisciplinarité, interdisciplinarité, pratiques innovantes, numérique),
- permettre à nos élèves de donner du sens à leur présence à l’école, à leurs apprentissages, de renforcer leur motivation,
- leur donner un meilleur accès au marché de l'emploi européen où la maîtrise des langues s'avère indispensable.
Nous poursuivons donc plusieurs objectifs linguistiques :
- améliorer le niveau en anglais,
- renforcer les bases du français qui n’est pas la langue maternelle de nos élèves créoles,
- vivre l’anglais comme un outil de communication et non comme une matière enseignée à l'école.
Les thèmes artistiques sont approchés d’abord sous un angle général et international pour que les élèves acquièrent des connaissances de base. Puis, ils sont étudiés sous un angle national afin de faire découvrir l’art local aux partenaires européens.
Durant les échanges, des rencontres d'artistes, des visites de musées et des temps de pratique artistiques sont prévus pour enrichir la culture de chacun des partenaires.
Ces thèmes sont développés sous un angle interdisciplinaire et transdisciplinaire et associent donc les langues vivantes étrangères étudiées à l'école dans une dimension réelle de communication.
Nous espérons que ces activités dévieront les élèves des écrans pour se tourner vers des activités artistiques voire même d'orienter leur projet professionnel vers l'art.
L’idée principale est de partager des cultures, des langues, des pratiques artistiques d’où la nécessité de l’aspect transnational de ce projet. Il est vrai que l'art peut s'étudier sans échange. Mais le sentiment d'appartenance à l'Europe ne se crée pas sans rencontre et collaboration avec des européens. C'est pourquoi, il est important de donner une dimension internationale à ce projet. En leur permettant de travailler et de créer ensemble, nous espérons lier ces élèves européens à vie.

Through artistic language, pupils will tackle current, regional, national and worldwide issues in order to develop their spirit of citizenship. Artistic diversity will be an open door on European cultures and all their architectural, pictorial, and musical riches.
Allowing pupils coming from each country to promote their regional and national culture, we wish to allow them to give a meaning to their learning and to attending school while creating an international opening.
The main theme is ART through a wide range of artistic subjects that will be studied over two years.
-The first year will consist in a six-week period of photography, a six-week period of literature, a six-week period of architecture and a six-week period of painting.
-The second year will consist in a six-week period on street art, a six-week period an land art, a six week period on music and a six-week period on theater.
These themes are approached first in general and international perspective so that students acquire basic knowledge. Then they studied from a more national perspective to discover local art to European partners.
During the exchange, artists meetings, artistic practice of museum visits and time are provided to enrich the culture of each partner.
Beyond the artistic practice and cultural exchange, we want to offer them the opportunity to practice languages studied in class (English and Spanish) so that they understand that languages are not just school subjects but a tool real communication and that their study could give them better access to the market of European employment where language proficiency is essential.
These themes are developed in an interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary angle and particularly combine modern foreign languages studied in college but in a real dimension of communication.
We hope that these activities will deflect students from the screens to turn to the arts and even guide their professional project towards art.
The logic of the project in terms of objectives lies in the need to develop a sense of national belonging and therefore to Europe (which is lacking in many students Reunion because of the remoteness and Turkey due to political isolation). It is indeed to fight against isolationism that threatens people and more peripheral regions of Europe as Reunion and Turkey. Conversely, the European partners will discover that Europe is not limited to the "mainland" but there are RUP (Ultra Peripheral Region) as Reunion. Our partners will discover one of many small scattered plots of Europe all over the world.
The project will also fight against social inequality since our audience of students falls within the priority education. We consider that it would be a unique opportunity for our students to travel, to discover Europe, chance that their family can provide.
We are also pursuing a dual linguistic goal: to improve the level of modern languages 1 and 2 (English and Spanish) while strengthening the foundations of French which is not our creole-speaking students’ mother tongue.
The logic of the project is also part of the fight against dropping by developing new approaches to disciplines (cross-disciplinary, interdisciplinary, innovative practices, digital). It is also to enable our students to make sense of their attendance at school, their learning, enhance their motivation.
The main idea is to share cultures, languages, artistic practices, hence the need for the transnational aspect of the project.
Moreover, while developing a sense of regional and national pride, we want to provide students a sense of European pride.
In a nutshell, our first priority is to develop in students a civic spirit and pride of belonging to Europe.
Our second priority is to develop in our students a curiosity for the outside, the other through art in Europe to promote tolerance and combat racism.
